Free MSRA taster · no card · near-miss marking
Twenty original MSRA questions, marked on the exam’s near-miss principle
Ten Professional Dilemmas items — five ranking, five choose-three — and ten Clinical Problem Solving questions, drawn from the Core Revision bank. You see the reasoning after every item and a marked report at the end. The first five are open to anyone; a free account unlocks the rest and keeps your report.
Ranking, scored per position
In our model, each of the five options earns 4, 3, 2, 1 or 0 marks by how far it sits from the keyed position, following the near-miss principle NHS England describes. A near-miss still scores.
Choose-three, exactly three
Pick the three most appropriate of eight. In our model, each one you get earns four marks; there is no negative marking anywhere in the MSRA.
CPS, one mark each

How you did — and what it does and doesn’t mean
Read this before you read the numbers
The MSRA has no pass mark. Each paper is standardised and reported as a number in the low hundreds, then grouped into four bands, and every programme uses that rank differently. Twenty items cannot place you in a band — but the shape of your result is informative: most candidates score higher on PD than on CPS, and the marks candidates leave behind on PD are usually in the ranking items, where the proximity scoring rewards getting the top and bottom options right even when the middle is uncertain.
| Band | Score | GP Round 1, 2026 — cumulative share of candidates (CPS / PD) |
|---|---|---|
| Band 1 | below 186 | 4% / 7% |
| Band 2 | 186–230 | 20% / 43% |
| Band 3 | 231–290 | 76% / 96% |
| Band 4 | 291 and above | 100% / 100% |
