GP Portfolio Hub
The portfolio is not complicated. It is just badly explained. This is one calm place to work out where you are, what you still need, and what would help this month.
Two doors, one map
Whichever door you come through, you are looking at the same picture of the same training year. That is the point — so a trainee and a supervisor can sit down in front of one shared view instead of two different ones.
Where am I, and what do I do next?
Tell us your training year, your current post and when your next review is. We will show you exactly what evidence is outstanding, at a pace that is actually achievable — plus plain-English guides to every assessment, the thirteen capabilities and ARCP.
Open the trainee section →For trainers and supervisorsHow do I supervise this well, and fairly?
What each assessment is really asking of you, how to grade consistently at different stages, how to write a report a panel can use, and what to do when a trainee is struggling. Plus tutorial sessions you can pick up and run.
Open the trainer section →One thing worth knowing right now
The RCGP has confirmed that updates to Workplace Based Assessment and the Trainee Portfolio are being introduced from August 2026, intended to improve consistency. The detail is still being published. We are tracking it and will update these pages — and the date stamp — as it lands.
Everything, without the wading
Evidence Tracker
What you still need, and the pace that gets you there before your review.
Every assessment explained
CbD, CAT, COT, mini-CEX, CEPS, MSF, PSQ, QIP and the rest — same template each time.
The thirteen capabilities
In plain English, with what actually counts as evidence for each one.
Writing learning logs
A ten-minute method, a worked comparison, and how to link capabilities honestly.
ARCP, calmly
What the panel looks at, every outcome explained, and a self-check before you go.
Placements
What each post can realistically give you, and the shape of the three years.
When it is harder
Less than full time, IMG, neurodivergent, returning from leave, or struggling.
Resources
A short, checked list of the links actually worth your time — including the ones that are not ours.
Your portfolio and your revision are the same curriculum
Trainees carry two jobs at once — the exams and the portfolio — and they are usually treated as competing for the same evenings. They are not. A case you log properly is a case you have revised. The curriculum is the same curriculum.
So the portfolio work you are already doing can feed straight into Core Compass, and the weak areas Compass finds can tell you which case to pick for your next discussion. Two problems, one piece of work.
A promise about what we will not do
Nothing here will ever write a reflection for you. The tools ask you questions, show you what good looks like and keep you honest about length — and then you write it. Reflection you submit as your own has to be your own, and anything else sets you up to fail at a point where it really matters.
It is free, and it stays free
No account, no sign-up, nothing to buy. Anything you type stays on your own device.
