The DOccMed Revision Guide
Thirteen focused chapters covering the main areas of the Diploma in Occupational Medicine — from the law and ethics of OH practice to writing the report that lands on the manager's desk.
The Faculty’s Diploma syllabus is built around four modules — the Introductory Module, the Effects of Work on Health Module, the Clinical Occupational Health Module and the Practical Module. These thirteen chapters map onto those modules, from the law and ethics of OH practice through occupational disease and fitness for work to risk management and report-writing.
Each chapter is written the way we would teach it: why the topic matters in the exam, the core content in digestible pieces, the pitfalls candidates fall into, the phrases that act as exam triggers, and a single-sentence takeaway you can carry into the paper.
Read a chapter, then test yourself. Retrieval beats re-reading every time.
A thread that runs through every chapter: occupational health advises; the employer decides. Almost every occupational health scenario is a variation on that theme. If you can hold it steady under pressure, you will pick up marks across the whole paper.
